Hello everyone!
I am running my first ever half marathon event on 18th October in none other than the gorgeous city of Amsterdam! 🏃♀️ And I’ve decided to use the occasion to raise money for Boat Refugee Foundation (BRF), the charity I’m very proud to work for. 💙
So, what do we do at BRF?
For over 10 years, BRF has been providing essential healthcare and psychological support to thousands of refugees in the Mavrovouni refugee camp on Lesbos. Today, our team of doctors, nurses, psychologists, interpreters and support crew works 7 days a week, 365 days a year, providing care, attention and compassion to people living in incredibly difficult circumstances.
Financial support is urgently needed to make sure we can continue to be there. So if you’re able, I would be very grateful for any contribution, big or small. It all makes a difference. Every contribution genuinely helps us to continue this work.
21.1km currently feels like quite a long way for my legs to carry me 😅. But as I run, I’ll be reflecting on the vastly greater journeys that so many of the people we support have been forced to make, and the extraordinary strength and resilience that takes.
Thank you so much for supporting me and, much more importantly, for supporting BRF and the people we are there to serve💙
