...I am currently a volunteer Doctor working in Greece for the Boat Refugee Foundation. The organisation provides medical and psychosocial care in Mavrovouni refugee camp on the Greek island of Lesvos.
In the camp, people face great uncertainty about their future. Many feel hopeless and have experienced horrific trauma and loss. They lack almost everything: from safety and privacy to hygiene, hot water, adequate food, and access to medical care.
The efforts of Boat Refugee Foundation's doctors, nurses, psychologists, interpreters and support crew are vital to the people in the camp. The state provided care is very limited and without access to translators. Without the support of organisations like the Boat Refugee Foundation, the healthcare needs for children, pregnant women and those with urgent care needs would be compromised.
I have seen first hand how vital it is for this care continues. But providing health care to dozens of people each day requires money.
That is why I have created a digital donation box to raise money. Will you help?
With your donation you directly help people on the move. Together we can make a difference; you as a donor and I as a volunteer.
Whatever you give will help the Boat Refugee Foundation continue to provide people on the move with medical and psychological care. Thank you!
If you would prefer to support Boat Refugee Foundation monthly then you can become a regular donor at https://bootvluchteling.nl/en/donate/.
