At the end of May, I’ll be travelling to the Greek island of Lesvos to volunteer with Boat Refugee Foundation for a few months. This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time and I feel incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to contribute in this way.
Boat Refugee Foundation provides medical and psychosocial care in the Mavrovouni refugee camp on Lesvos. People in the camp are living with huge uncertainty about their future. Many have experienced trauma and loss, and on top of that, they often lack basic things such as safety, privacy, proper hygiene facilities, hot water, adequate food, and consistent access to medical care.
The team — doctors, nurses, psychologists, interpreters and support staff — works every day to provide essential care to people who really need it. It’s incredibly meaningful work, but it also requires funding to ensure they can continue helping dozens of people each day.
To support the foundation’s work, I’ve set up this fundraiser. If you’re able to donate, you’ll be directly supporting medical and psychological care for people on the move.
Any amount, large or small, truly helps. Thank you so much for your support!
If you’d prefer to support Boat Refugee Foundation on a monthly basis, you can become a regular donor here:
